Exponential-e awarded Best Cloud Communications Provider at UC Awards 2020
Exponential-e is delighted to announce that we have been awarded Best Cloud Communications provider at the 2020 UC Awards.
The UC Awards are hosted by UC Today, the UK's leading publication on the field of Unified Communications and Collaboration. Each year, it acknowledges leaders in the field of UC, both in terms of new technologies and innovations in user experience and service delivery.
Exponential-e was selected as the winner based on our work with Lewisham Health and five other health boroughs in South-East London in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our teams worked intensively to ensure GPs and frontline staff across these boroughs could continue providing a high standard of care through multiple channels, even while maintaining social distance.
This was the latest development in our longstanding relationship with the healthcare sector, as we already connected over 60% of London's NHS organisations, spanning 50 health authorities, 20 CCGs and 1,100+ HSCN fibre circuits. The project involved the rapid deployment of Cloud telephony and our own UC solution, which was designed with healthcare connectivity in mind, particularly native HSCN integration. The solution was deployed in just 48 hours for the first 1,000 users, then scaled up for 5,000 GP and frontline staff across six boroughs and 206 GP sites.
Our solutions ensured GPs and other NHS staff across these sites could stay connected and engaged throughout lockdown, both with their own teams and with their patients. More than just maintaining 'business as usual', this offered a range of opportunities to implement new ways of delivering services, streamline processes and improve workflows and reporting, with patient care at the centre of everything.
A key part of this has been the range of new channels through which clinicians can now connect with their patients, including telephony, video and text, along with the ability to automatically redirect calls to hub sites to minimise waiting times - all while maintaining a focus on the healthcare sector's challenging compliance and data security requirements. This included having permissions management and automatic tracking and alerting in place from day one, along with the ability to add additional authentications on an as-needed basis.
In this way, we not only helped these organisations maintain social distancing, but supported the move to a 'clinician first' model. This means all healthcare staff have the tools they need at their fingertips 24 / 7, wherever they are working from, and patients can continue receiving a world-class standard of care, through whichever channel of communication they are most comfortable with.
Afshin Attari, our Director of Public Sector and Unified Platforms, commented after the announcement:
"We're thrilled to have won Best Cloud Communications Provider at the UC Today awards. The Exponential-e team have worked nonstop to enable the rapid deployment of these services to allow NHS staff across South-East London to continue providing care to their patients throughout lockdown, which this award acknowledges."
Congratulations to everyone involved in the win!
